A day contradiction is unresolved: one listing site tab names Monday 8 PM, another names Wednesday 9 PM for the same venue. A web description names a Wednesday 9 PM comedy open mic, 'Think You're Funny?', dating to 2008 and not confirmed elsewhere. The venue's own homepage and calendar page, checked Aug 14, 2026, could not be read for event text, though the homepage shows a live music schedule into Aug 2026 [s1].

A source names 'Jokes on Oak,' a free weekly Saturday comedy show, sign-up and vibes 7:30 PM, show 8 PM (checked Aug 14, 2026) [s1]. This matches the day and time already listed here, confirming the type as comedy rather than music. It calls this 'New Orleans' funniest comedians,' language reading as a curated, booked lineup rather than an open-signup mic. The Venue's Website does not mention any of these terms.

Weekly on Wednesdays, 9:00 PM. Only one source reports it.
The Venue's Website, checked Aug 14, 2026, makes no mention of music, an open mic, a bar, or live entertainment anywhere [s1]. It describes a late-night pizzeria, a type of venue unlikely to host a live-music open mic. This suggests the mic may never have existed here, which is different from evidence that it closed.

The venue is confirmed real through an electronic-music event listing. Its own website again failed to load (checked Aug 14, 2026) [s1]. Neither confirmation nor denial of the open mic was possible.

The venue's own homepage, checked Aug 14, 2026, makes no mention of an open mic, comedy, trivia, Friday, or music [s1]. An independent description names its actual programming as '80+ beers, billiards, darts, comedy, trivia, and poker machines,' different from the claimed Friday music open mic -- flagged as likely a mismatch rather than confirmed.

The venue's own homepage, checked Aug 14, 2026, and its events page, which returns a not-found error, make no mention of an open mic or Tuesday [s1]. It appears on independent 'top open mic' listing pages but is elsewhere described primarily as a swing-dance and cabaret venue. The event rests on listing-site support alone.

The Venue's Website, checked Aug 14, 2026, places it at 7900 Lakeshore Dr in the Lakeview/West End area of New Orleans and confirms the venue is real, but has no mention of 'live music,' 'open mic,' or 'Thursday' [s1]. Business-listing sites give the same address. The venue's city was corrected from an earlier 'Kenner' on this basis. Live music is said to run on select nights, consistent with but not confirming this open mic.

The obvious website address for this venue is a parked, inactive page, not its real site (checked Aug 14, 2026) [s1]. A second guessed address for the venue failed to load as well. The venue's real, current website could not be located, and no other source confirms an open mic here.

The Howlin' Wolf is confirmed real and current, 'A New Orleans Institution Since 1988,' but its calendar pages could not be read, and the homepage's visible text has no mention of 'mic,' 'Wednesday,' 'Thursday,' 'calendar,' or 'show' (checked Aug 14, 2026) [s1]. This is a well-known booked touring venue with a main room and a side room, raising doubt it runs a weekly amateur open mic; no other source confirms one.

A 2023 news article confirms the venue relocated to 9000 Hickory St [s1]. A web description says the open mic actually runs Sunday, not Wednesday, and that current hours have it closed Wednesday through Friday -- a direct contradiction. The venue's own homepage, checked Aug 14, 2026, makes no mention of an open mic, Sunday, or Wednesday [s2]. The day is left unresolved pending a source that can be checked directly.

The Spotted Cat is a well-known, nightly-booked live-jazz room, raising doubt it runs an amateur open mic. Its homepage and calendar page (checked Aug 14, 2026) have no mention of 'open mic'; the calendar shows no day-of-week text at all [s1]. A day contradiction — Tuesday 7:30pm, Wednesday 7pm, Thursday 7pm, all from one listing site — stays unresolved; each day is kept separate rather than merged.

The listed address, 1 University Pl, Shreveport, is confirmed to be the main campus of Louisiana State University Shreveport, not a restaurant or bar, by the university's own course catalog (checked Aug 14, 2026) [s1]. Business-listing sites describe the same address the same way. The venue name resembles a real Cajun-seafood restaurant brand at a different address in this metro; the name may have carried over to the wrong address.
