A Westword feature describes The Basement's monthly night as open to poets, musicians, and comedians, but no second source confirms that framing.
The Basement (Cameron United Methodist Church)
Monthly
Monthly, but no source gives the night.
Call to confirm the night
The sources disagree about whether it still runs.
The church's own events calendar does not mention an open mic (checked Sep 1, 2026) [s1]. A news feature from Nov 16, 2023 describes host Q running a monthly market and open mic here [s2]. The same host runs an open mic at Corner Beet. That article is now nearly three years old, and the church's calendar does not show the event.
