The venue's events page lists this night, but may not be current.
Once a year, on a Thursday. Only one source reports it.
The South Dakota State Poetry Society's own events calendar shows its 'Poetry on the Road' tour stopped at Outside of a Dog Books & Games on January 15, 2026 (checked Aug 14, 2026), but no future date has been announced for this venue [s1]. The statewide tour itself continues, with confirmed stops elsewhere from May 2025 through April 2027 [s1]. This is recorded separately from a Thursday music open mic at Vermillion's Varsity Pub.
Weekly on Thursdays, 8:00 PM. The Venue's Website does not mention it.
The Venue's Website does not mention an open mic, but its only relevant content is a form for performers to request bookings, not a public events listing, so the site cannot confirm or rule out a standing Thursday open mic (checked Aug 14, 2026) [s1]. An open-mic listing site is the only source naming this Thursday event.
