Open Mics in Champaign, IL

The venue's own events listing shows upcoming instances of S.P.E.A.K. Cafe on Sep 10 and Oct 1, 2026, both falling on a Thursday (checked Aug 14, 2026) [s1]. This matches the weekly Thursday cadence already listed for this event.

A civic tourism calendar's event page, re-checked Aug 14, 2026, lists a long run of upcoming, genuinely varying weekly instances of this open mic at The Space, from May 21 through Oct 1, 2026, each falling on a Thursday [s1].

Weekly on Wednesdays, 6:30 PM. Only one source reports it.

The same tourism calendar's page for this Wednesday open mic, re-checked Aug 14, 2026, shows a stale April 30, 2025 date and lists the location as 'Big Grove Tavern' instead of The Space, an unresolved anomaly [s1]. Big Grove Tavern's own site has no matching address or open-mic mention, so it looks like a listing error. A newspaper's search confirms The Space has run open mics since 2023 [s2]. No fresh Wednesday instance was found.
