Open Mics in Columbus, OH

A ticket page on eventbrite.com lists this night, but may not be current.

The sources disagree about whether it still runs.

Weekly on Wednesdays, 7:00 PM. Only one source reports it.

Listing sites are the only support found for this open mic. One such page contradicts itself: its structured fields say Wednesday, 7 to 10 PM, but its own prose says 'every Tuesday night... music starts at 9' (checked Aug 14, 2026) [s1]. That page's listed start date matches the date it was checked, a pattern already known to be a placeholder rather than a real date. The Venue's Website fails to resolve [s2].

Weekly on Thursdays, 8:00 PM. The Venue's Website does not mention it.

The venue's homepage does not mention an open mic (checked Aug 14, 2026) [s1]. Its events page shows an error saying the page does not exist [s2]. This absence is not treated as reliable evidence, however, since the homepage itself may not load as readable text.

The Venue's Website suggests it may have ended.

Weekly on Mondays, 6:00 PM. The Venue's Website does not mention it.

A weekly Monday stand-up open mic hosted by Ty Moore has been described via the venue's own social media posts and other sources, though those posts could not be directly viewed. The Venue's Website, viewed again on Aug 14, 2026, showed only a small stub page with no mention of an open mic or Monday, likely a thin landing page rather than the full site, so this is inconclusive rather than a clear sign the event has ended [s1].

The venue's events page lists this night, but may not be current.

Other descriptions call this a long-running weekly Tuesday bluegrass jam at the dive jazz club, with no sign-up required. An open-mic listing site could not be reached [s1]. The Venue's Website did not resolve either [s2].

A listing site references an open mic at this venue, though without confirmation of the day or time elsewhere. The Venue's Website did not mention an open mic or Wednesday when checked Aug 14, 2026 [s1]. By Sep 5, 2026 its events page read only that it was being updated with no content, so this absence is not treated as reliable evidence [s2].

Weekly on Thursdays, 9:00 PM. The Venue's Website does not mention it.

The Venue's Website is a small multi-bar company page with no events content and does not mention an open mic (checked Aug 14, 2026) [s1]. An open-mic listing site gives Thursday at 9 PM and a roundup article gives Wednesday at 9:30 PM; which is correct remains unresolved.

The venue's own taproom page lists 'Monday Music Open Mic' as regular weekly programming (checked Aug 2026) [s1].

The Venue's Website, checked Aug 14, 2026, describes a 'Tuesday musical open mic at 8pm' [s1]. This corrects an earlier open-mic listing site's claim of a Thursday, monthly event.

The Venue's Website lists this night, but may not be current.

A poetry open mic at this venue meets Wednesdays at 8 PM under the name 'The Poetry Cauldron' (checked Aug 14, 2026) [s1]. Two other websites give different names for what appears to be the same event; which name is current, and whether the series still runs, could not be confirmed.

The second Thursday of each month, 10:00 PM. The Venue's Website does not mention it.

The domain listed as the Venue's Website now shows an unrelated online store with an empty shopping cart, not the bar's site (checked Aug 14, 2026) [s1]. This does not prove the bar has closed, but it means a listing site's detail of 'Second Thursday, 10 PM' can no longer be treated as current.

Weekly on Wednesdays. The Venue's Website does not mention it.

The venue is open and trading, hours Tuesday through Saturday, closed Mondays, per a business directory page that does not mention an open mic, 'trivioke,' or karaoke (checked Sep 5, 2026) [s2]. A listing site gives Wednesday at 9 PM, weekly [s4]. No other source gives a specific day. An Instagram highlight reportedly labels a Thursday event 'Singo,' but its profile could not be read to check this (checked Aug 14, 2026) [s1].

Weekly on Mondays, 8:00 PM. The Venue's Website does not mention it.

The venue's own current calendar page does not mention an open mic anywhere (checked Aug 14, 2026) [s1]. Separately, the venue has been described elsewhere as closed on Mondays, the day this open mic is said to happen, but that could not be confirmed or ruled out from the venue's own pages, which list no hours at all.

Earlier research described a weekly Thursday music open mic here, at 9 PM with sign-ups at 8 PM. A follow-up attempt to check the venue's social media page could not be read, so it neither confirms nor refutes this [s1].

Both sources give the same night and time, but neither confirms recent activity.

Weekly on Wednesdays, 8:00 PM. The Venue's Website does not mention it.

The Basement is a roughly 350-capacity touring and local-band concert venue, and its own page does not mention an open mic anywhere (checked Aug 14, 2026) [s1]. This is consistent with a professionally booked room rather than a walk-in open mic.

The venue's posted hours are consistent with an evening open mic, though no specific event time is stated. An open-mic listing site lists both a Friday and a Saturday open mic at this address, suggesting the venue may run more than one mic, not necessarily the same event as the Friday listing. The venue's social media page could not be read, so it neither confirms nor refutes this [s1].

Weekly on Sundays, 6:00 PM. Something about this has changed recently — confirm before going.

The chain's locations and hours page does not mention an open mic or Sunday, though it is unclear which of several Daily Growler locations would host one (checked Aug 14, 2026) [s1]. By Sep 5, 2026, the chain's own site stated this location has been rebranded as 'The Daily Etcetera,' so any open-mic claim here needs checking under the new name. The shared events calendar shows zero events, with a 2014 copyright date [s2].

The Venue's Website, checked Aug 14, 2026, describes the open mic as running 'every Friday night' and calls it 'free comedy in Columbus, every week,' confirming a standing weekly Friday program [s1].

The Venue's Website lists this night, but may not be current.

The Nest Theatre is a dedicated improv and sketch-comedy venue, and earlier checks found no open-mic programming there. Checking the Venue's Website on Aug 14, 2026 loaded an almost empty page, so nothing could be confirmed either way [s1].

The Venue's Website lists this night, but may not be current.

A Monday open mic at this venue has been confirmed through an earlier search matching an original finding. A listing site's page for the same event shows a start date identical to the date it was checked, Aug 14, 2026, a known placeholder pattern on this site rather than a real date, so it adds no independent support [s1].

Both sources give the same night and time, but neither confirms recent activity.

A ticketing site's organizer page for the venue describes Sunday programming as 'Jazz Brunch 12-4pm, Open Mic Comedy 4-7pm,' hosted by Xavier G Dunson (checked Aug 14, 2026) [s1]. An earlier claim gave 5-7 PM instead. The only dated instances on that page run Sept-Oct 2024, marked completed. An arts listing site's page is marked as already taken place, a single past instance, not evidence the series continues [s2].

Weekly on Tuesdays, 8:00 PM. Only one source reports it.

The venue's own ticketing-site organizer page describes 'Tuesdays - Open Mic' among its free weekly events, alongside a Monday bluegrass jam and Sunday jazz brunch [s1]. The dated instances of that Tuesday open mic all run Oct 8-29, 2024, marked completed, with no 2025 or 2026 date found [s2]. The organizer stays active with other, non-recurring shows into Sept 2026, so this reads as a stale listing, not a stated closure.

The Venue's Website lists hours for Monday through Saturday, but 'Sunday' appears separately with its specific hours unclear from the page (checked Aug 14, 2026) [s1]. Whether the venue posts Sunday hours at all, and so whether a Sunday open mic fits into them, remains unconfirmed.

Occasional.

Earlier research found a free monthly poetry open mic called 'Village Poetry Open Mic,' hosted by Nathan McDowell. Checking the venue's own events page could not get through (checked Aug 14, 2026), so it neither confirms nor refutes this [s1]. The schedule is understood to be monthly rather than weekly.
