Open Mics in Dayton, OH

The Venue's Website, checked Aug 14, 2026, lists 'Tuesday Open Mic with Brandon, 7:00 PM signup — all levels welcome' under its standing weekly schedule [s1].

The venue's events page lists this night, but may not be current.

The first and third Sunday of each month, 7:00 PM. Only one source reports it.

Since 1999, this poetry slam has run at Yellow Cab Tavern. The organizer's own site carries a frozen, undated 'Next Show 11/20 Anti-Slam' listing with nothing from 2026 (checked Aug 14, 2026) [s1]. The most recent dated instance found anywhere is a benefit show from Jun 15, 2025, over a year old [s2]. A claim it moved to 'Canal Public House' is wrong; that venue closed in 2016, and the organizer's site still names Yellow Cab Tavern.

The Venue's Website suggests it may have ended.

The first and third Wednesday of each month, 8:00 PM. The Venue's Website does not mention it.

The comedy open mic here traces only to a newspaper feature that can no longer be read online. The Venue's Website has now been checked multiple times and makes no mention of an open mic (checked Aug 14, 2026) [s1]. This is not treated as proof of closure, since no dated statement says it ended, but the repeated absence is notable.

A ticket page on eventbrite.com lists this night, but may not be current.

Weekly on Wednesdays, 6:00 PM. Only one source reports it.

A ticketing site lists an 'Open Mic Night at Legacy Bar' as part of an ongoing series, with a dated instance for Mar 4, 2026 at 6:30 PM (checked Aug 14, 2026) [s1]. The listing is organized by a third party, a community center, not the venue itself or a named host, and that connection to the venue was not confirmed elsewhere. The Venue's Website could not be read.

A social media post describes a free comedy open mic at NextDoor Bar happening every other Sunday, giving a sign-up time of 8:15 PM and a show time of 8:30 PM [s1]. Another social media post separately describes the same every-other-Sunday cadence. A business directory listing checked Aug 14, 2026 confirms the venue is currently open [s2].

The Venue's Website suggests it may have ended.

The second and fourth Wednesday of each month, 9:45 PM. The Venue's Website does not mention it.

A regional tourism directory confirms the venue runs open mic nights generally (checked Aug 14, 2026) [s1]. The specific classification as a comedy open mic on the second and fourth Wednesday traces only to a newspaper feature that can no longer be read online, so this detail could not be confirmed or refuted.

The venue's events page suggests it may have ended.

The venue's own events page makes no mention of an open mic or Thursdays (checked Aug 14, 2026) [s1]. Combined with the venue being a touring-act live-music room, a type that rarely hosts open mics, it is unclear whether this event was ever real as described, rather than simply having stopped.

The sources disagree about whether it still runs.

The third Saturday of each month, 7:00 PM. The Venue's Website does not mention it.

The Hub Dayton's own current site does not mention 'Segue' or poetry anywhere, and its dedicated page for the series returns an error (checked Aug 14, 2026) [s1]. A specific event page for this series from Aug 17, 2024 and a reference to a session on Jan 15, 2025 both now return errors as well [s2]. The most recent evidence found is from January 2025, well outside the roughly 12-month window expected for a monthly event.

The Venue's Website suggests it may have ended.

Weekly on Thursdays, 9:00 PM. The Venue's Website does not mention it.

The venue is confirmed to still be operating at its listed address and phone number, but the Thursday open mic itself rests only on a listing site. The venue's own homepage does not mention an open mic (checked Aug 14, 2026) [s1]. Its events calendar could not be read, so this is not conclusive.
