Open Mics in Spokane, WA

A public arts organization's page describes this as a monthly poetry open mic held every first Friday, and remains current as of Aug 15, 2026 [s1]. A student newspaper feature describes the series as running for about 12 years, hosted by Chris Cook [s2].

The sources give the same night and time, but none confirms recent activity.

A claim that this poetry slam disbanded in August 2021 traces to a page that remains unreachable (checked Aug 15, 2026) [s1]. A city arts-grant page describes the group in the present tense, saying it hosts two events a month on the first Sunday and third Monday, matching the schedule here [s2]. That is undated prose, not a dated instance, so it does not confirm activity alone, but it counters the unverified disbandment claim.

The sources disagree about whether it still runs.

The Venue's Website could not be reached when checked Aug 15, 2026 [s1]. A touring band's gig-calendar page for the venue turned up only a 2024 date, not a current jam night [s3]. A review site's listing carries no closed marker, suggesting the restaurant is still open [s4].

A page on spokesman.com lists this night, but may not be current.

The sources disagree on the night.

A news article reports the venue's owner, who had run it since 2006, died unexpectedly (reported Jan 23, 2025) [s1]. A listing site shows an open mic there on Monday, Jan 5, 2026, 7:00-11:00 PM [s3]. That is about seven months after the owner's death. Sources give 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM as the start time; the current schedule is unconfirmed.

Both sources give the same night and time, but neither confirms recent activity.
