The terms that govern your use of A Good Place for Music — including our text-messaging terms and conditions.

Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the website and services of A Good Place for Music (the brand and DBA of Good Place for Music, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, EIN 41-2694067) (“AGPFM,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
About the Organization
A Good Place for Music is a non-profit that provides a low-cost, high-quality facility for performance, recording, and music production, and connects musicians to opportunities for performance and income. Our services are offered for these non-commercial, charitable purposes.
Use of the Site & Listings
You agree to provide accurate information and to use the site lawfully. Artist listings and other submissions must be truthful and must not infringe anyone's rights. We may edit, moderate, remove, or decline any listing, content, or account at our discretion.
Memberships, Donations & Tickets
Donations support a 501(c)(3) non-profit and, except as required by law, are generally non-refundable. Paid memberships provide the benefits described at the time of purchase. Our Free membership (one artist listing and invites to member events) costs nothing, is given automatically when you create your first artist listing, and may be changed or withdrawn at any time. Tips during a livestream are donations; a tip may unlock HD viewing for that event. Free plays and previews of songs and videos are a courtesy and may change. Event tickets are subject to the terms shown at checkout; if an event is canceled, we will provide a refund or alternative as described at that time. Consent to receive text messages is never a condition of any purchase, membership, or donation.
User Content
When you submit photos, bios, recordings, or other media, you grant AGPFM a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display and use that content to operate and promote our services and the site. You represent that you have the rights to what you submit.
Comments
Comments on venue and open-mic listings are public and show your name. They must be truthful and must not be abusive, defamatory, or spam. Comments may be screened automatically (including by an AI service), held for review, hidden, or removed. Members of a listed venue are notified of comments and may reply.
Account email (tickets, receipts, sign-in links and codes) is part of the service. Optional email — Live now emails, Studio updates and event invites — can be turned off at any time: every optional email has an unsubscribe link, and you can change your choices in your account under Texts & email.
Messaging Terms & Conditions (SMS)
Program: A Good Place for Music text messaging. Texts come from A Good Place for Music (Good Place for Music), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
By providing your mobile phone number and checking a Text box in our Text/Email choices (at agoodplaceformusic.org/text-alerts, in ticket and membership checkout, on the Donate page, in your account, on the artist listing form, on Book Studio, or in the “How should we reach you?” step after you create an account), by texting START, JOIN, ALERTS, SUBSCRIBE, YES or UNSTOP to our number, or by signing a staff consent form, you consent to receive the text messages you chose from A Good Place for Music. Text boxes are never pre-checked, and each program has its own box and its own consent. If you ask for a sign-in code by text, we send only that code. Our forms show two separate groups — Account messages and Promotions (optional: Live now alerts and Studio updates) — each with its own unchecked Text box(es) and its own notice. The programs:
- Account messages — one-time login and verification codes, ticket confirmations and event-day reminders, studio booking confirmations and reminders, and notices to listed artists that a booking request is waiting in their account. Frequency varies (one per triggering action).
- Live now alerts — when an A Good Place for Music livestream starts. Up to 5 msgs/month.
- Studio updates — announcements of upcoming shows, open mics and member offers. Up to 5 msgs/month.
- Staff alerts — internal alerts to staff when website status requires an admin action, sent only to staff who signed a consent form. Frequency varies.
Message frequency varies by program as above. Message and data rates may apply. Available to U.S. and Canadian mobile numbers. Live now alerts and Studio updates are sent only between 8 am and 9 pm Eastern. The first time you turn on texts from your account, we text a code to confirm the number is yours.
To opt out, reply STOP (or STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT) at any time; you will receive a confirmation and no further messages. STOP turns off all our texts, including Account messages such as login codes (you can still sign in by email). To opt back in, reply START (or JOIN, ALERTS, SUBSCRIBE, YES, UNSTOP): this restores the texts STOP turned off, or, if your number never had texts from us, subscribes you to Live now alerts and Studio updates, and we text a confirmation. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase, membership or donation.

Intellectual Property
The site's design, text, logos, and graphics are owned by AGPFM or its licensors and may not be used without permission, except for content you own and submit.
Disclaimers
The site and services are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, AGPFM will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or services.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of laws rules.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent version.
