A library calendar page that once supported this listing no longer mentions 'Open Mic,' 'Poetry,' 'Gregory,' or 'Research Center' (checked Aug 15, 2026) [s1]. The organizing group's own website likewise omits 'Gregory,' 'Open Mic,' 'reading series,' and 'schedule' [s2]. The relied-on instance dates to December 2024, roughly 20 months old for what should be a monthly series, so status drops from active to unknown, not confirmed ended.
The venue's own events page, checked Aug 15, 2026, repeatedly confirms a recurring, upcoming 'OPEN MIC. Taco Tuesday,' with instances through at least Aug 18, 2026 [s1]. The page never states a genre for this event, so the format is left undetermined rather than guessed.
Weekly on Tuesdays, 8:00 PM. The Venue's Website does not mention it.
Checked Aug 15, 2026: the Venue's Website is current but does not mention an open mic [s1]. Otherwise this event is known only from an open-mic listing site, so its status is not established either way.
Sources mention Tuesdays but are not confirmed; actual night is unclear. The Venue's Website has gone offline since we found this.

The sources disagree on the night.
As of Aug 15, 2026, the Venue's Website still does not load. The comedy genre rests on an open-mic listing site that was not re-examined this time. The start time is unresolved: that listing gives 8:00 PM, while another source gives a sign-up time of 9:00 or 9:30 PM.
Weekly on Thursdays, 10:00 PM. The Venue's Website does not mention it.
The Venue's Website, checked Aug 15, 2026, describes itself as 'Houston's Premier Jazz Lounge' with weekly live music [s1]. The page shows too little text to confirm or rule out whether it mentions an open mic. Otherwise this listing rests only on an open-mic listing site.
A listing on badslava.com lists this night, but may not be current.
Weekly on Thursdays, 8:30 PM. Only one source reports it.
This listing traces to an open-mic listing site; a note describing the Thursday blues-jam genre has no source page or date recorded, so it cannot be checked. The Venue's Website, checked Aug 15, 2026, does not mention 'jam,' 'Thursday,' or 'open mic' on its home or events pages. A similarly named domain has been confirmed to be an unrelated site, not the venue's.
Weekly on Tuesdays, 8:00 PM. The Venue's Website does not mention it.
Checked Aug 15, 2026: the venue's home and events pages omit 'open mic,' 'jam,' 'Tuesday,' and 'Thursday,' and show no dates at all, so this is inconclusive rather than a firm negative [s1]. The site's current navigation emphasizes festival and private-event booking over a standing weekly jam [s1]. That is at least consistent with the format having faded. A similarly named domain is confirmed unrelated to the venue.
A listing on badslava.com lists this night, but may not be current.
Weekly on Thursdays, 9:00 PM. Only one source reports it.
As of Aug 15, 2026, this listing rests only on an open-mic listing site; no website was found for the venue, and its Instagram could not be read because it requires login. No other source was found to confirm the event.
The venue's own dedicated event page, checked Aug 15, 2026, confirms a recurring 'Monday Night Jam' by name, with upcoming instances [s1]. The genre comes from the venue's own name for the event, not from a guess.
A listing site read on 2026-09-25 disagrees with the Sunday night here: page shows Saturday, not Sunday. Which is current is unresolved — check before travelling. Something about this has changed recently — confirm before going.

House of Blues Houston is a large, nationally touring venue, and its own website, current as of the check, never mentions an open mic (checked Aug 15, 2026). No other source was found to confirm or deny one either way.
A page on karaokehouston.com lists this night, but may not be current.
A karaoke-focused directory, checked Aug 15, 2026, confirms a Wednesday event at this venue but does not say whether it is a music open mic distinct from the venue's separate karaoke nights [s1]. The genre and whether it is still running remain unconfirmed.
A page on onlineopenmic.com lists this night, but may not be current.
Weekly on Mondays, 7:00 PM. Only one source reports it.
As of Aug 15, 2026, the Venue's Website still fails to load due to a connection error, so it offers no evidence either way. The question remains unresolved.
A ticket page on eventbrite.com suggests it may have ended.
Checked Aug 15, 2026: a ticketing site's listing for this event now reads 'Event ended... Sales ended,' confirming that dated instance has passed, with no way to tell whether another is scheduled [s1]. The Venue's Website still does not mention comedy or Tuesday. Whether this is an open sign-up or a curated booking remains unresolved.
A listing site read on 2026-09-25 disagrees with the Tuesday night here: page shows Thursday, not Tuesday. Which is current is unresolved — check before travelling. Something about this has changed recently — confirm before going.

As of Aug 15, 2026, a claim of 'every Tuesday' traces only to a preview snippet of an Instagram post, since Instagram posts cannot be opened directly. An open-mic listing site says Thursday instead, and that day contradiction is not resolved.
The Venue's Website, checked Aug 15, 2026, confirms the phrase 'Comedy Upstairs' appears verbatim [s1]. An open-mic listing site agrees. Neither source carries an explicit publication date, so this is held at medium rather than high confidence.
The Venue's Website lists this night, but may not be current.
The Venue's Website, checked Aug 15, 2026, confirms doors at 6:00 PM and the show starting at 7:00 PM on Sundays, with a current address [s1]. Whether it counts as an open mic is unresolved: the $12-25-plus cover reads more like a ticketed, curated show, and open sign-up was never confirmed.
A listing on badslava.com lists this night, but may not be current.
Weekly on Wednesdays, 9:00 PM. Only one source reports it.
Checked Aug 15, 2026: the Venue's Website is current and describes 'live music on weekends' in general terms but never says 'open mic.' The address has been confirmed to be legitimately within Houston city limits, and this is one venue, not a duplicate listing.
A page on onlineopenmic.com lists this night, but may not be current.
Weekly on Tuesdays, 7:00 PM. Only one source reports it.
As of Aug 15, 2026, this Tuesday listing rests only on an open-mic listing site; no other source confirms a Tuesday event here distinct from the venue's separately confirmed Monday comedy night.
The Venue's Website, checked Aug 15, 2026, separately mentions comedy shows upstairs [s1]. A city listings site names this specific event, 'Rudyard's Open Mic Comedy Night,' Monday, with doors at 7:30 PM [s2]. Neither source carries an explicit publication date, so confidence is medium rather than high. Re-loading the listings site here showed only a newsletter sign-up page, which is not treated as a retraction.
Sources mention Thursdays but are not confirmed; actual night is unclear.

The venue's own event page, checked Aug 15, 2026, confirms the Houston Blues Society Blues Jam with a upcoming instance on Aug 27, 2026 [s1]. An open-mic listing site separately describes a weekly Thursday, 9 PM open mic at the same address; the two could not be reconciled and are kept as an unresolved contradiction.
Weekly on Wednesdays, 7:00 PM. The Venue's Website does not mention it.
Checked Aug 15, 2026: the venue's Houston-specific web page is fully readable but does not mention an open mic, Wednesday, or Main St. [s1]. A separate, unverified claim states the Houston club is closed on Wednesdays (open Thursday through Saturday only), which would conflict with a Wednesday open mic, but this could not be confirmed.
A page on onlineopenmic.com lists this night, but may not be current.
The first and third Wednesday of each month, 8:00 PM. Only one source reports it.
The Venue's Website is fully readable but does not mention an open mic anywhere on the pages checked (checked Aug 15, 2026). A biweekly schedule (1st and 3rd Wednesday) comes from an open-mic listing site that the Venue's Website does not confirm.
The venue's own organizer page on a ticketing site, checked Aug 15, 2026, confirms 'SPEEDBALL: Saturday Open Mic Comedy,' every Saturday, free, starting at 11:59 PM, with an imminent instance that weekend, Aug 15-16, 2026 [s1].
The Venue's Website lists this night, but may not be current.
The Venue's Website was checked again Sep 5, 2026: its only content is taproom hours and an address, and the portion covering programming loads as literal 'Loading...' text rather than real content [s1]. Its dedicated events page could not be located, so an earlier finding that the site never mentions 'open mic' is downgraded rather than treated as evidence either way.
