Both sources give the same night and time, but neither confirms recent activity.

Weekly on Thursdays, 6:00 PM. Only one source reports it.

Gipper's Restaurant & Bar's only listed contact is a Facebook page, which could not be read. A local music-events site, checked Apr 13, 2026, confirms the venue as 'Gippers Bar & Restaurant' with a link to that same Facebook page [s1].

Weekly on Thursdays, 8:00 PM. Only one source reports it.

No website for Grand Rapids Garage Bar & Grill was found. A local music-events site (checked Apr 13, 2026) lists two separate 'Garage'-named venues — 'Garage Bar (Ada)' and 'Garage Bar & Grill' — confirming that this venue refers to the second, distinct from the Ada location [s1]. This venue's address, 822 Ottawa Ave NW, comes from an earlier correction. The venue's Facebook page could not be read.

Weekly on Fridays, 9:00 PM. Only one source reports it.

Kava Kasa's only listed contact is a Facebook page, which could not be read. A local music-events site confirms the venue and host name, 'Kava Kasa (Brandy),' but its Apr 13, 2026 update date applies to the whole list, not specifically to this entry [s1].

Mulligan's Pub's own home page does not mention Wednesday or an open mic, and its events page showed an error (checked Aug 2026). A local music-events site does list Mulligan's Pub, updated Apr 13, 2026, about four months earlier — though that update date applies to the whole list rather than this specific entry [s1]. The listing links to the Venue's Website. The venue's Facebook page was not checked.

A page on heymichigan.com lists this night, but may not be current.

Both sources give the same night and time, but neither confirms recent activity.

The venue now has its own website, but it does not mention an open mic, poetry, or Tuesday (checked Sep 7, 2026) [s1]. Whether the Tuesday poetry open mic still runs is unconfirmed.

The venue's events page lists this night, but may not be current.

The Comedy Project's own home page contains neither 'open mic' nor 'Monday,' and its shows page likewise does not mention an open mic; its classes and schedule pages showed errors (checked Aug 2026) [s1]. This is consistent with the venue's show calendar being difficult to read directly. A local roundup describing a Monday, 7 PM comedy-variety open mic and open jam for $7 was not reexamined this time.

The Venue's Website suggests it may have ended.

Weekly on Wednesdays, 8:00 PM. The Venue's Website does not mention it.

The Pyramid Scheme's own home page, fully read, is silent on any open mic; a guessed calendar page showed an error (checked Aug 2026) [s1]. The venue is primarily known for booked touring acts and is also absent from a local music-events site's round-up of open mics.

The venue's events page lists this night, but may not be current.

Weekly on Tuesdays, 9:00 PM. Only one source reports it.

Tip Top Deluxe Bar & Grill's own domain does not resolve. A local music-events site, checked Apr 13, 2026, confirms the venue appears on its open-mic guide, but no day or time detail for it could be found there [s1].

The Venue's Website suggests it may have ended.

Weekly on Tuesdays, 8:00 PM. The Venue's Website does not mention it.

Ghost Light's own homepage, updated July 2026 — about a month earlier (checked Aug 2026) — describes the venue entering 'a new chapter' and asks for contributions to 'meet immediate obligations ... and work toward a smaller, more sustainable future,' though it states 'we're still here' [s1]. The Tuesday program's name, 'Songwriter,' appears nowhere on the homepage, which may mean it is paused, not closed.

Both sources give the same night and time, but neither confirms recent activity.

A news article on metrotimes.com lists this night, but may not be current.

Weekly on Thursdays, 9:00 PM. Only one source reports it.

A 2016 Metro Times feature places Nandi's Knowledge Cafe Open Mic Series at 12511 Woodward Ave., Highland Park, every Thursday, 9 PM to midnight, with a $5 cover [s1]. This confirms the venue is in Highland Park rather than Detroit, but no source more recent than this decade-old article was found.

The venue's events page lists this night, but may not be current.

The venue's own event page confirms an open mic on Monday, July 6, 2026, 7–10 PM, posted June 12, 2026, as the first Monday of the month [s1]. It identifies the exact venue as New Holland Brewing, 66 E 8th Street, Holland, rather than 'the beer garden' generically.

Thursdays. Runs seasonally.

Michigan Academy of Folk Music's own events page confirms 'Jam at the Park' at Prospect Park, describing 'weekly jams this summer on Thursday evenings' with simultaneous Slow Jams and Bluegrass Jams, free and open to the public [s1]. The page is current, and this is an ongoing annual summer series, currently in season as of August.

A page on stayhappening.com lists this night, but may not be current.

Park Theatre's own homepage does not contain the phrase 'Open Mic,' but the page appears to carry very little text, so this is not a reliable negative (checked Aug 2026). Other sources — an open-mic listing site, a city site, and a ticketing site — previously agreed the event runs Tuesdays at 8 PM; that agreement was not re-verified this time, but no contrary evidence was found either.

A page on new.openmikes.org lists this night, but may not be current.

An open-mic listing site is the sole source for Howard City Open Air Open Mic, showing upcoming Thursday instances on Aug 20, Aug 27, Sep 3, Sep 10, and Sep 17, 2026. A listing site alone is not enough to confirm this outdoor, sponsor-hosted event as active, and no venue-owned website or independent corroboration was found.

A listing on openmikes.org lists this night, but may not be current.

An open-mic listing site's page for El Mariachi Mexican Grill, self-reported by the host, was last updated Aug 1, 2025 — about 12.5 months before Aug 2026 [s1]. That listing itself suggests contacting the venue to confirm. For a claimed weekly event, that is too old by itself to confirm it is still current, and no other source was found.

Art 634's own events page confirms six upcoming dates for Open Mic Night at the Michael Palmer Gallery, each the 3rd Thursday of the month — Aug 20, Sep 17, Oct 15, Nov 19, and Dec 17, 2026, and Jan 21, 2027 [s1]. Sign-ups start at 7 PM, with the mic at 7:30 PM.

The Venue's Website suggests it may have ended.

Weekly on Wednesdays, 8:00 PM. The Venue's Website does not mention it.

Alley Cat's own home page does not contain the phrase 'Open Artistic Stage,' and a guessed events page showed an error (checked Aug 2026) [s1]. This event was previously also corroborated by a local arts-news site, which was not reexamined this time.

A poetry festival's own event page confirms 'Your Turn Open Mic' at Fire Historical and Cultural Arts Collaborative, 1249 Portage St., Kalamazoo, with a dated instance on Friday, Apr 10, 2026, 7–9 PM, emceed by Dane [s1]. The page notes 'we are splitting the open mic up into two weeks this year,' a scheduling change that is not fully resolved but is not a sign of closure.

The Kalamazoo Valley Blues Association's own website is confirmed active, currently promoting its Blues Fest 2026 on July 10–11 and other 2026 events [s1]. A previously read schedule feed from the same organization showed four of five upcoming 2026 instances of this blues jam on Thursday and one on Saturday, with none on Sunday; that feed could not be re-read this time, but no evidence was found to change that Thursday-anchored reading.

A page on kvba.org lists this night, but may not be current.

Weekly on Tuesdays, 7:00 PM. Only one source reports it.

Old Dog Tavern's own home page does not corroborate an open mic, and its events and calendar pages showed errors (checked Aug 2026). The venue is confirmed active: it is hosting a blues society's own Blues Fest 2026 on July 10-11 [s1]. That is a separate, one-off event, not evidence of a standing Tuesday open mic. The sole basis for this listing remains an open-mic listing site entry about a year old.

A local music-scene site's current-week listings confirm 'Extra Event Center L'Anse – Open Mic 7pm' on Friday the 14th [s1]. That resolves the day as Friday, once listed here as undetermined.

The venue's events page suggests it may have ended.

Weekly on Thursdays, 7:00 PM. The Venue's Website does not mention it.

Blue Owl Coffee's own home page does not contain the phrase 'open mic' anywhere. Its events page does not contain it either (checked Aug 14, 2026) [s1]. This event was never confirmed active in the first place — it rests only on an open-mic listing site.

The sources disagree on the night.

Dagwood's Tavern & Grill's Facebook page, its only listed contact, could not be read. A source from roughly 14 years ago claims a Tuesday, 10 PM open mic hosted by Jen Sygit. Jen Sygit's own current site confirms she now hosts a different Wednesday open mic at Moriarty's Pub instead [s1]. A 2026 directory round-up instead describes an unnamed-host Thursday open mic here. This day and host contradiction remains unresolved.

The sources disagree about whether it still runs.

The Michigan Institute for Contemporary Art's own events page makes no mention of an open mic or 'Burning' (checked Aug 2026) [s1]. A separate page describing the gallery's annual Valentine's-season poetry night — in its '21st annual' edition — now shows an error. An archive shows that page was still live as recently as January 2025 [s2]. A listing site's claim of a weekly Sunday poetry mic remains uncorroborated by any source found.

The host's own tour page confirms a upcoming instance on Jul 29, 2026, for 'Open Mic @ Moriarty's Pub,' 802 East Michigan Avenue, Lansing, describing it as running 'every Wednesday,' 8-11 PM, with sign-up starting at 7:30 PM, hosted by Jen Sygit (checked Aug 14, 2026) [s1]. Adjacent dated instances linked from the same page confirm this is a genuinely updated recurring listing, not a fixed, unchanging one.

The sources disagree on the night.

The venue's own Facebook page posted within the last week as Sir Pizza's Old Town Pub at 201 E Cesar E. Chavez Ave, (517) 484-4825 (checked Sep 6, 2026) [s1]. The Greater Lansing CVB's 2026 listing describes it in the present tense with a first-Friday Karaoke Night [s2]. The Thursday open mic itself remains unverified; the only named programming is first-Friday karaoke.
