Open Mics in California

The venue's events page lists this event, but may not be current.

Both sources give the same night and time, but neither confirms recent activity.

As of Sep 1, 2026, the venue's own events page shows no current open mic listing [s1]. An events website's page for the venue shows the same [s2]. The only dated instance found, June 4, 2025, is about 15 months old, too old by itself to show a monthly event is still running. A possibly conflicting 'Third Thursday' open-mic mention at this venue could not be checked and is not used as evidence either way.

Both sources give the same night and time, but neither confirms recent activity.

The Venue's Website lists this night, but may not be current.

The sources disagree about whether it still runs.

The first Friday of each month, 7:00 PM. The Venue's Website does not mention it.

An open-mic listing site's map (checked Sep 1, 2026) shows Zocalo's Friday open mic with a genuinely upcoming date [s1]. The Venue's Website, read in full, confirms it's the same San Leandro coffeehouse ('Join Us Friday and Saturday') but doesn't mention an open mic anywhere; the site has no events section at all, consistent with a small coffeehouse that doesn't use its retail site for programming [s2].

The Venue's Website suggests it may have ended.

Weekly on Thursdays, 7:00 PM. The Venue's Website does not mention it.

As of Aug 31, 2026, the venue is confirmed open, and its main website address fails to resolve. Its small alternate site carries no event content [s1]. An open-mic listing site remains the only source for the Thursday open mic claim; no other confirmation was found.

A civic arts calendar lists an Open Mic Night at the Grand Annex on the second Thursday of each month, with sign-up at 6:30 PM and the first 12 acts guaranteed a slot, and currently shows this event with a genuinely upcoming instance (checked Sep 1, 2026) [s1].

The sources disagree about whether it still runs.

This venue is still absent from an open-mic listing site (re-checked Sep 1, 2026), though that directory may not be comprehensive here [s1]. Another comedy calendar site (re-checked Aug 31, 2026) does not list this venue [s2]. It had appeared there in an earlier sighting, which may reflect a rolling time window rather than an actual closure. Two similarly-named, unrelated businesses nearby made the address unconfirmable.

As of Sep 1, 2026, an open-mic listing site's map shows this roving series with a genuinely upcoming Thursday date, matching a last-Thursday-monthly pattern [s1]. The current host Venue's Website names this event in an upcoming-shows section, a venue-confirmed signal that the series is genuinely scheduled there [s2].

The sources disagree about whether it still runs.

The second Thursday of each month, 7:00 PM. The Venue's Website does not mention it.

An open-mic listing site's map shows an upcoming event matching the venue's second-Thursday pattern (checked Sep 1, 2026) [s1]. The venue's own homepage, fully checked, contains no mention of 'open mic' or 'Songwriters' — the only 'Thursday' match was restaurant hours, not event content — and a dedicated events page could not be reached [s2]. An attempt to confirm this through a songwriters' organization was blocked.

The Venue's Website suggests it may have ended.

The last Saturday of each month, 8:00 PM. The Venue's Website does not mention it.

The Venue's Website, checked Aug 31, 2026 and fully read, describes the gallery's actual monthly event — a First Saturday Art Walk, 6-10 PM — without mentioning 'open mic,' 'poetry,' 'music,' 'mic,' or a live-performance component [s1]. This may be a mislabeling of ordinary Art Walk participation as an open mic.

The Venue's Website suggests it may have ended.

Weekly on Mondays, 6:00 PM. The Venue's Website does not mention it.

The Venue's Website, checked Aug 31, 2026, does not mention 'open mic' or 'Monday' anywhere on the page, which is short enough that it would plausibly mention a weekly recurring event if it ran one [s1]. No source beyond the original listing site has ever stated this open mic exists, and there's no evidence it closed either.

The sources disagree about whether it still runs.

The first Saturday of each month, 6:00 PM. The Venue's Website does not mention it.

The only dated positive evidence is a single instance from Feb 7, 2026, about seven months before an Aug 31, 2026 check [s1]. The venue's own current events index, checked that day, did not show enough readable text to confirm whether the host's name or 'open mic' appears there [s2]. There is no explicit statement the series ended, so its status cannot be confirmed either way.

The sources disagree on the night.

The venue's own events page, checked Aug 31, 2026, confirms its Comedy Dungeon open mic still runs, with doors at 9:30 PM and the show starting at 10:00 PM [s1]. A comedy listing site agrees the mic runs on Wednesdays with 5-minute sets, a lottery sign-up, and no cover [s2]. An unexplained 'Tuesday' hours line elsewhere on the Venue's Website is left unresolved.

An Orange County arts nonprofit's curated calendar was re-checked and reproduced the same dated open-mic instance from June 11, 2026 [s1]. A site search of the same calendar turned up an October 2025 instance, indicating an ongoing series rather than a one-off [s2]. The freshest confirmed date is about three months old, and whether the mic runs the second or the last Thursday of the month is unresolved.

The venue's events page lists this night, but may not be current.

As of Sep 1, 2026, the venue's own events page confirms this is the correct Funk Zone location, but 'Open Mic' doesn't appear anywhere -- the only upcoming events are holiday dining events, not an open mic [s1]. That silence on the venue's own current, correctly located page weighs against the claim, but since the event was never confirmed by the venue itself before now, this stays unconfirmed rather than likely inactive.

The Venue's Website suggests it may have ended.

Weekly on Wednesdays, 7:00 PM. The Venue's Website does not mention it.

The venue's own homepage, fully checked, does not mention 'Open Mic' anywhere (checked Sep 1, 2026) [s1]. A guessed events page could not be reached. No prior confirmation from the venue itself existed before now either, so this stays unconfirmed rather than indicating the event has ended.

A page on metrosiliconvalley.com lists this night, but may not be current.

Weekly on Mondays, 8:00 PM. Only one source reports it.

A local newspaper describes a well-established, named-host weekly comedy open mic with over 500 Monday nights (dated Apr 2023) [s1]. An earlier 2022 article said the same. The account is about three years stale, too old by itself to show the weekly event is still current. Social media and a review site were unreachable. No negative signal was found — a gap in information, not a sign of closure.

Both sources give the same night and time, but neither confirms recent activity.

A listing on bayareaopenmics.com lists this night, but may not be current.

The venue's own homepage, re-checked Sep 1, 2026, has no 'open mic' text, though the page may be too thin to mean much. A listing site confirms an 'every other Monday' cadence but gives no forward date [s1]. A news feature dated Oct 2, 2025 is about 11 months old [s2]. No other dated signal was found, and this is not recent enough to confirm the event is still active.

Weekly on Mondays, 8:00 PM. Only one source reports it.

The venue's own calendar lists Open Mic Night recurring every Monday, with recent dated instances on Aug 3 and Aug 10, 2026, alongside other non-Monday events on the same shared calendar [s1]. An open-mic listing site's dedicated page for the venue confirms the Monday recurrence (checked Sep 1, 2026) [s2].

A page on santacruz.com lists this night, but may not be current.

As of Sep 1, 2026, the Venue's Website could not be reached, and an archived copy of the site could not be loaded either. No checked source confirms the Tuesday open mic itself; the venue's ongoing operation is confirmed only through customer reviews, not the event. A regional open-mic guide gives the event's day and format but carries no date of its own [s1]. No other source establishes these details.

A page on santacruz.com lists this night, but may not be current.

As of Sep 1, 2026, the Venue's Website remains a thin page with no mention of 'open mic,' 'Thursday,' or 'third' -- too thin to mean much either way. A regional open-mic guide says this venue hosts Open Mic Night on the third Thursday of the month [s1]. A business-directory listing describes the venue only generically, as an event space, with no date-specific detail. No new dated evidence was found for or against.

Both sources give the same night and time, but neither confirms recent activity.

An open-mic listing site's dedicated venue page (checked Sep 1, 2026) names the current host, Nicole Lopez, standing in for founder Caroline Hawkins, and confirms Sunday, though it gives no upcoming date of its own [s2]. A news feature dated Oct 2, 2025, about 11 months earlier, agrees [s1]. No more recent dated signal was found, which is not enough to show the event is still running weekly. No website was found for the venue.

The Venue's Website suggests it may have ended.

Weekly on Sundays. The Venue's Website does not mention it.

As of Sep 1, 2026, the venue's own homepage, checked, makes no mention of 'open mic,' 'Lone Star,' 'Sunday,' or 'weekly' -- dominated by ticketed touring-act listings [s1]. The Lone Star Lounge is documented elsewhere as a distinct room in the same building, so this doesn't disprove its existence. A guessed calendar page failed, and a listing site has no entry for the venue. Whether it runs weekly or only 1st/3rd Sunday is unresolved.

The venue's own ticketing calendar lists multiple separately dated 'All-Star Jam Session' events extending through September 2026, each its own listing rather than a repeated template (checked Aug 31, 2026) [s1].

The venue's events page lists this night, but may not be current.

The venue's events page lists this night, but may not be current.

The venue's own description page states plainly that its open mic 'starts at 10PM every Tuesday' [s2]. Its own live calendar carries a matching upcoming listing for Tuesday, Sept 1, 2026 at 10:00 PM with a working ticket link (checked Aug 31, 2026) [s1].

The venue's own open-mic page describes 'Slice Mic' running every Monday, with sign-ups going live every Monday too, though the page carries no specific date (checked Aug 31, 2026; reconfirmed Sep 5, 2026) [s1]. The venue's separate calendar and ticketed-shows pages don't mention it, but those appear to track a different, ticketed program rather than contradicting the open mic.
